of Aaron Nunley

An Automobile genius

Aaron has worked in the automotive industry for more than 30 years and is a master automotive technician who is ASE certified. A lifelong love of cars began when he helped his dad fix the family’s vehicles. He built scale models of his dream cars and immersed himself in all available automotive literature! Aaron had the chance to work as an automobile machinist in the school’s ROP program and earn many awards in the auto shop when he was a high school student. After finishing high school in 1987, Aaron attended and graduated from Phoenix, Arizona’s Universal Technical Institute. Aaron and Melissa crossed paths in 2003, and just over a year later, they tied the knot. In August 2003, Aaron’s career took a new direction.

On weekends, Aaron would spend time in the shop perfecting his driving talents and constructing a setup that could tackle the most challenging trails. Additionally, Aaron maintained his skills in identifying and fixing modern mechanical and electrical systems in automobiles through ongoing training. In addition to his role as president of the Rough and Ready Jeep Club, Aaron has generously served as a director on the board of the Rubicon Trail Foundation. He Migrated to New Jersey in 2006. And in 2008, following the birth of their daughter Lilli, they returned to California. Aaron is actively pursuing the goal of providing Rubicon Garage’s valued clientele with full-time services.

The shop owner, Aaron, is incredibly hard working and generous – he started taking care of my jeep before he was even settled in. He is detail oriented and considerate in making sure that I always have options that fit my price range. He’s got a great rapport with his clientele – checks in on how their vehicles are and quick to respond if you ever need him. I trust no one else to work on my baby (my jeep 😂). I recommend all my friends to him for his excellent work!

I spoke with Aaron about new aftermarket ball joints for my teenage son’s unmodified Wrangler JK, and by the next afternoon they were installed. So simple. Price was very fair, with parts exactly at retail cost. Additional potential maintenance repairs were pointed out, with instructions on how to monitor for deterioration, and no “sales” pressure to do it immediately. All told it was a great experience, and I feel good knowing my kid’s car has been serviced by a true professional and family man.

Aaron is a Jeep whisperer. He did extensive work on our JK last summer fixing broken parts, welding plating back together, centering the axles, on and on. It drives great now, huge difference. I didn’t think the vehicle could drive that well on the highway with all its off road mods. Fast forward a few months and we started having steering and vibration issues in our JL. 15 minutes is all it took him to diagnose and fix the problem(s). I just simply cannot recommend him highly enough. Good human too, he even likes dogs and they like him!!
